Three Ways to See Every Widget

Every widget on the dashboard - Ideas, Folders, Screenplays and Shared with Me - can be shown in three different ways: as a list, as a grid of cards, or as a single column of full width cards. Which one you use is entirely up to you, and you can change it as often as you like.

At the top right of each widget is a group of three icons. Click one to redraw that widget in the shape it stands for:

Each widget is set on its own, so you can keep your Screenplays as a list while your Ideas are a grid of cards. Your choices are remembered, so the dashboard looks the way you left it the next time you come back to it.

List View

List view draws the widget as a table, one line per item, and fits the most into the least space. It is the best choice when you have a lot of scripts or ideas and you know what you are looking for:

Click any of the column headings to sort the list by that column, and click the same heading a second time to reverse the order.

Grid View

Grid view draws each item as a card, three or four across depending on how wide your window is. A card has room for things a table row does not - the poster, the logline, the genres - which makes this the view to use when you are browsing rather than searching:

Click anywhere on a card to open that item. The gear in the top corner of the card holds the same actions the List view offers at the end of each row.

Row View

Row view uses the same cards as Grid view, but one to a line, each running the full width of the page. With that much room the poster and the title are larger, the logline sits directly under the title where it is easiest to read, and everything else about the script fits on a single line beneath it:

It shows fewer items on the screen at once than the other two, but it tells you the most about each one. Many writers find it the most comfortable way to look through their work.

Sorting Cards

In List view the column headings are what you sort by. Cards have no headings above them, so in Grid and Row view a Sort dropdown appears beside the three icons instead:

It offers the same orders the column headings do, and choosing the order that is already selected turns it around, exactly as clicking a heading twice does.

The order you pick is remembered along with the view, so a list sorted by title in one shape is still sorted by title when you switch to another.

Elsewhere on the Site

The Scripts list on a Folder's own detail page carries the same three icons and works in exactly the same way, so the screenplays in a folder can be looked at however you prefer to look at screenplays anywhere else.

None of this changes your scripts, ideas or folders in any way - it only changes how they are displayed on the screen, so try all three and settle on whichever suits you - for each of the listings.
