Coverage is a reader’s report on a screenplay: what the script is, how well it works, and what to do next. Script 360 offers two kinds — coverage written by our AI, and coverage written by one of our experienced Staff Analysts — and you order both from the Coverage section of your script’s summary page.

AI Coverage

Written by our AI in a few minutes and paid for in AI credits. It scores your script out of 100 and gives it a verdict — Pass, Consider or Recommend — worked out from nine categories: Premise, Theme, Structure, Character, Dialogue, Originality, Writing Style, Story Logic and Marketability. Each score is argued for with lines quoted from your pages. The report picks out the strongest thing in the script, walks the story scene by scene, sets out what works and what does not, and ends with the specific things worth fixing next.

Because it is quick and costs only credits, you can run it again after each rewrite and set the reports side by side to see whether the draft actually moved. Coverage from our Staff Analysts

Written by one of our Staff Analysts — experienced professional script readers — who reads your script and writes the report themselves. There are three kinds:

• Full Coverage — a complete report: scores in all nine categories, the analyst’s overall assessment, pros, cons and next steps.
• Quick Take — the same nine scores and verdict, with the analyst’s conclusions in one piece.
• First Act Review — the analyst reads through the end of your first act and tells you whether it makes them want to read on, with comments on premise, originality, characters, dialogue and writing style, and a verdict of Needs Work, Has Potential, Intriguing or Impressive Start.

Features over 125 pages are $1 a page more for Full Coverage and Quick Take. Analyst coverage is available for feature films and TV scripts, not yet for shorts or stage plays.

• Press Coverage (Analyst)… in the Coverage section to order. A script’s authors and co-authors can order coverage for it.
• Your analyst reads your published draft, so publish the draft you want read before you order.
• You can choose one of our analysts, or leave it to us and we will assign one.
• Your report is due within 7 days of an analyst taking your order, and our staff check every report before it reaches you.
• When it is ready, you and your co-authors are emailed, and it appears in the Coverage section beside any AI coverage, where you can print it or save it as a PDF. It is shown to members who view your script in the Script Library; you can turn that off on the report.
• With Full Coverage or a Quick Take you can add a 40-minute Zoom call with your analyst for $60, when you order or afterwards. Your analyst will message you to find a time.

Which should I get first?

We recommend starting with AI Coverage. It costs a fraction of analyst coverage, arrives in minutes, and shows you the problems a reader will find. Use the report to rewrite, and run it again, until our AI scores your script at least 60. Have our AI proofread the script too, and fix all the issues it finds, so typos and formatting slips do not distract your analyst or pull down your scores and verdict.

Coverage from one of our Staff Analysts is most valuable once the script is at the level where a professional reader’s judgement can take it further — when the problems the AI can find have been fixed, and what is left are the questions only an experienced reader can answer. That is the time to spend the money on it.
