Need a quick word with a co-writer, or a question for us? Press the round chat button at the bottom right of your dashboard. A list of the people you can chat with opens. Press a name to start talking.

Who can I chat with?

• Script 360 Staff: we are always on your list, so you can ask us anything.
• People on your scripts: anyone who accepted your invitation to a script or idea (or whose invitation you accepted), people confirmed as attached to your scripts, and your confirmed representatives and clients.
• Your network: everyone in it. See How do I build my network?
• Recent chats: anyone you have chatted with in the last 60 days.

Want to chat with someone who is not on your list? Ask them to join your network. Once they accept, they are on it.

Online or not

A green dot means they are online now. You can still write to someone who is offline: they will see your message the next time they sign in. If a chat sits unread for an hour, we email it to them, so nothing gets missed. Don’t want those emails yourself? Turn off Email me when I miss a chat on your notifications page.

Pictures and files

Press the paperclip in a chat box, paste a picture, or drag one in. You can send pictures, PDFs and Word documents (DOCX) of up to 10MB. Large pictures are made smaller so they arrive quickly. Pictures and files are kept for 60 days, so download anything you want to keep.

Good to know

• Each message can be up to 1,000 characters.
• You can delete a message you sent by pressing the bin beside it. It disappears for both of you.
• If you block a member, you won’t be able to chat with each other.
• Chat is for quick back-and-forth. For something longer, or to write to any member, use Messages from the envelope at the top of the page.
