Yes, from their profile, and you can undo it any time
Go to the member's profile and press Block. That is the whole of it.
What blocking does
It closes the channel both ways. They cannot send you messages, and you cannot send them any — which is deliberate, because a block that let you keep writing would be a way of getting the last word.
It applies to new messages and to replies alike, so a message you have already received stops there.
What blocking does not do
It does not delete anything. Messages you already have stay on your Messages page and can still be read. Blocking stops what happens next; it does not reach back and take away correspondence that already happened. If you want a message off your list as well, delete it separately.
The other member is not told. There is no notice, and no mark on your profile. If they try to write to you they are told you are not currently accepting messages — the same sentence somebody sees when a member has simply narrowed their settings. The two are deliberately indistinguishable, so that sending a message is never a way to find out whether you have been blocked.
It does not hide you. Blocking is about messages. They can still see your profile and your listed screenplays. If you would rather your profile were seen only by people you have been in contact with, and you were left out of the Member Directory and every member search, that is a separate switch on your own profile — see Can I keep my profile private?
Seeing and undoing your blocks
Your own profile has a Blocked members list, under the messages settings. Everyone you have blocked is on it, with an Unblock button beside them. You can also unblock from the member's profile, where the Block button becomes Unblock.
Unblocking takes effect straight away and, again, nobody is told.
One exception
Script 360 staff can always reach you. If we need to contact you about your account, a payment or something reported to us, that message gets through whatever your settings say. Blocking a staff member does not stop it — and if you would rather talk to us by email, write to info@script-360.com.
