Report it, and it stops
Messages on Script 360 come from other members, and almost all of them are what you would expect — a note about a screenplay, a reply to something you shared. Occasionally one is not: an advertisement for somebody's course, a stranger asking for money, or something worse.
You do not have to put up with it, and you do not have to leave it alone either.
The flag
Open the message and press Report, at the top beside Delete. A box asks what is wrong — unsolicited advertising, a scam or a request for money, abusive or offensive, or something else — and gives you room to add anything you want us to know.
Also block this member is ticked for you. Leave it ticked unless you have a reason not to: it stops them writing to you the moment you send the report. If you would rather keep seeing what arrives — some people want to watch an ongoing nuisance — untick it and report anyway.
Press Send the report and that is all you have to do.
What happens next
The report goes straight to the Script 360 team, and a member of staff reads the message — not a summary of it, the messages themselves — so that we can see what actually happened rather than take anybody's word for it. Then we take whatever action fits what we find.
We do not promise a particular outcome, because it depends entirely on what is there. We also may not write back to you about it. A report is not ignored; it is just that what we do about one member is between us and them.
The member is never told
This is the part worth being clear about, because it is what stops people reporting things.
Nobody is told that you reported them. There is no notice, no mark on your profile, and nothing in the message changes on their side. If you blocked them as well, all they can see is that messages to you no longer go through — and that looks exactly the same as somebody who has simply narrowed their settings. They cannot tell the difference, which is deliberate.
Reporting does not start an argument. It ends things quietly.
You can just block, without reporting
If somebody is not doing anything wrong and you would simply rather not hear from them, blocking on its own is the right tool and needs no explanation to anybody — see Can I block members from contacting me?
Use the report when the site needs to know: advertising, scams, or behaviour that should not be happening to anybody. Blocking protects you; reporting protects everyone else too.
A word about money
If a message asks you to pay somebody, send a deposit, buy gift cards, or move the message somewhere private to arrange a payment, treat it as a scam until you have very good reason not to. Script 360 will never ask you for a payment inside a message. Anything you actually owe us happens on the Membership or AI Credits pages, behind your own login, and never because somebody wrote to you.
Report it. That is exactly the kind of message we want to see.
A few practical things
- You can report a message once. After that the button reads Reported, because we already have it.
- Reporting does not delete anything. The message stays on your Messages page and can still be read — delete it separately if you want it gone.
- If the problem is a message with Script 360 staff, write to info@script-360.com instead. The flag does not point anywhere useful there.
- To cut down on unwanted messages before they start, you can limit who is allowed to write to you at all — see How do I limit who can contact me?
