Copying and Pasting within a Script360 screenplay

Copy and Paste within a script you are editing in the Script360 Editor is designed to work as you would expect while ensuring that what was copied makes sense being put in the spot it is being pasted (where the blinking cursor is), using the usual Ctrl-C, X and V keys you should know.

Remember, scripts are made of different types of paragraphs (which we call Elements), so copying a Scene Heading (as an example) and then pasting that inside a paragraph of Dialogue wouldn’t really make any sense. Our editor tries to make it look appropriate and be sensible in most cases.

To make it easy on you, when our editor notices that the Element type being pasted does not match the Element where you are pasting, it may insert a new paragraph to maintain the Element that you copied.

Pasting in Text from another Editor

At the moment, all text that is copied from another website or allocation (such as Final Draft) will be pasted in as Action. In the coming weeks we will be adding logic to analyze the pasted content and paste it in with the proper Element types (such as Scene Headings, Dialogue and the rest). Stay tuned for that update soon.
